Outstanding youth union officials honoured with Ly Tu Trong Awards

VTV.vn - A ceremony was held in the central province of Ha Tinh on March 22 to celebrate the 93rd anniversary of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (HCYU) (March 26, 1931-2024) and grant the 2024 Ly Tu Trong Awards to outstanding youth union officials around the country.

The event was attended by Deputy Prime Minister Tran Hong Ha, Nhan Dan (People) Newspaper’s Editor-in-chief Le Quoc Minh, who is also Deputy Head of the Party Central Committee (PCC)’s Commission for Communications and Education and Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association, among others.

Addressing the ceremony, Deputy PM Tran Hong Ha affirmed that under the guidance of the Party, President Ho Chi Minh, and senior leaders, over the past 93 years, Vietnamese youth of all generations have created miracles for the Vietnamese people during the cause of national liberation, construction and defence.

Praising the substantial contributions and outstanding achievements of the youths, teenagers, and children nationwide, as well as the youth unions at all levels over the past 93 years, the Deputy PM expressed his hope that 100 winners of the Ly Tu Trong Awards 2024 continue to strive, spread the spirit of dedication and inspiration for young people, towards writing the golden pages of the history of Vietnamese youth.

Stressing the significant challenges from the integration process, the downside of the market economy, especially the selfish lifestyle, the Deputy PM asked the youths nationwide to uphold the spirit of initiative and active participation in solving new and difficult problems and spreading good cultural values of the nation, contributing to building a civilised and nature-friendly living environment.

The Ly Tu Trong Awards were granted to outstanding youth union officials who have made great contributions to the performance of youth unions and the movements of children and teenagers.

This year, there were 172 applications from 64 provinces, cities, and affiliated youth unions. The Organising Committee selected 100 outstanding individuals to receive the awards, with 68 male and 32 female delegates.
