Accordingly, the SEA Games 31’s organising board will feature 35 members while the ASEAN Para Games 11’s organising board group 25 members, both headed by Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Nguyen Ngoc Thien.
The boards will operate under the direction of the national steering committee for the SEA Games 31 and ASEAN Para Games 11, led by Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam.
They are tasked with building plans and projects for the organisation of the two regional events and must submit all relevant documents to functional agencies for approval, helping the steering committee make decisions on the date and venues to hold the two Games.
The SEA Games 31 is scheduled to take place in Hanoi, Vietnam from the end of November to early December 2021 and will feature some 36 to 40 sports, two-thirds of which will be present at the Olympic Games and Asian Games (ASIAD). This is the second time Vietnam will have hosted the region's biggest sporting event since 2003.
Meanwhile, the Para Games 11 are set to take place in late December 2021 with 14 sports. Hanoi and some neighbouring localities will provide venues for the competitions.
