The NA deputies agreed that amendments were needed to meet the requirement of trade agreements that Vietnam has signed. Within the next 10 years, trade liberalisation will cover 97-98% of all tariff lines.
At the same time, attention should be paid to how the new tariff regulations affect the state budget and national financial security as well as marginalised groups such as farmers, fishermen and workers in support industries.
The NA deputies also asked for additional review of the tariff-exempt sectors as well as the jurisdiction of ministries and departments regarding tariff-exempt products and services./.
