One new imported COVID-19 case detected on October 20

VTV.vn - A new imported case of COVID-19 was detected during the past 12 hours, taking the national tally to 1,141 as of 6pm on October 20, according to the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control.

The new patient is an Indian citizen, who is the wife of Patient 1125. She arrived from India on flight 6E9471 which landed in Tan Son Nhat airport on October 6. She was found positive to SARS-CoV-2 in her second test while in quarantine.

Vietnam has gone through 48 straight days without any locally-infected cases of COVID-19.

The number of recovered patients has reached 1,046. The death toll remains at 35.

Among patients still under treatment, 10 have tested negative for SARS-CoV-2 once, three negative twice and three negative thrice.

A total o 13,537 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or arrived from pandemic-hit areas are being quarantined nationwide, with 148 at hospitals, 12,277 at concentrated quarantine facilities and 1,112 at home or in accommodations.
