One imported case of COVID-19 recorded on February 26 morning

VTV.vn - Vietnam detected one imported case of COVID-19 over the past 12 hours to 6:00 am on February 26, raising the national count to 2,421, the National Steering Committee for COVID-19 Prevention and Control reported.

The latest patient is a 28-year-old Vietnamese woman who entered the country via Moc Bai international border gate in the southern province of Tay Ninh and was quarantined right upon her arrival. She is now under treatment at the provincial general hospital.

As of February 25, the total number of domestic cases reached 1,520, the committee said.

As many as 76,495 people who had close contact with COVID-19 patients or came from pandemic-hit areas are now under medical monitoring nationwide, with 580 people in hospitals, 12,038 in other State-designated quarantine establishments, and 63,877 at home.

The committee’s treatment sub-committee said 1,804 patients have recovered so far.

Among the active patients, 62 have tested negative for the coronavirus SARS-CoV-2 once, 57 twice and 77 thrice.

According to the Ministry of Health, nine cities and provinces have gone through 14 days without new domestic cases, comprising Hoa Binh, Dien Bien, Ha Giang, Binh Duong, Hung Yen, Bac Giang, Gia Lai, Bac Ninh and Quang Ninh.
