Under the theme "Your Love," "Proud Melody" told miraculous love stories through handwritten letters in October. The wartime love letters fade with time, but they contain the touching memories of the soldiers, the memories that are both romantic, glorious and very ordinary, as a remnant of love that has overcome the fierceness of war.
One of the impressive stories told in the program was the love story of the writer-journalist couple Nguyen Thi Thanh Huong and Vu Tu Nam, which brought many special emotions to the audience. More than 500 letters they wrote to each other during their separation became a living proof of love that transcends time.
The handwritten letters take the audience back to the early days when the two were friends, then lovers, then husband and wife, through letters passed from hand to hand, sent by courier, without stamps. The yellowed papers, many pages with smudged ink, still contain genuine and intense emotions.
At that time, paper and envelopes were very scarce, so most letters were written on paper torn from notebooks, some from cigarette packets, others on pieces of cloth... And letters played an extremely important role in providing support and strength for the soldiers.
