Oc Eo - Ba The recognised as special national relic
VTV.vn - The Oc Eo - Ba The archeological and architectural site, in the southern province of An Giang, has been recognised as a special national relic.

A ceremony to mark this event was held in Oc Eo town in An Giang province on July 27. The four hundred fifty hectare Oc Eo relic is located in the area of Ba The Mountain, forty kilometers from Long Xuyen city. This is a well-known relic, first excavated by French archaeologist Louis Malleret in the 1940s, which is believed to have been a busy commercial port of the once-powerful Phu Nam kingdom 2 thousand years ago. Artifacts found in this area are clear evidence of an advanced civilisation with developed arts and crafts, including jewelry and pottery making. In 1988, two stone steles and a four-hand Buddha statue earned the site its national relic status, with Nam Linh Son Tu and Go Cay Thi winning the same honor in 2002.
