Addressing the conference, Deputy Prime Minister Hoang Trung Hai stressed the need to create favorable policies to attract more enterprises to invest in rural areas, and thus raise incomes for local farmers. The deputy Prime Minister also pointed out some weaknesses that need to be solved, including the weak connection between farmers, enterprises and scientists. Other opinions from local enterprise representatives at the conference pointed out several obstacles preventing them from investing in this sector, including land clearance and infrastructure. The conference was co-organized by the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and the World Bank.
