North-South highway project accelerated

In his conclusion, he emphasized that the Government has approved the goal of completing and putting into operation 4 sections of the North-South expressway in 2022, which will span more than 360 km, contributing to the completion of 2,500km of highway by 2025.

As such, the Deputy Prime Minister has asked ministries, branches, localities, related agencies, and units to focus on and make greater efforts in accomplishing this goal. Four component projects of the general project are expected to be completed this year and four projects are expected to be completed next year. The remaining 2 projects are expected to be completed by early 2024.

Phase 2 of the North-South expressway project includes 12 component projects and will also start construction at the end of this year to ensure completion in 2025.
