According to the airport authority, the gateway handled 674 take-offs and landings, serving 116,276 passengers on the day.
International traffic remained high, with nearly 50,000 passengers travelling through the airport.
Despite the sharp increase in passenger volume, the airport said operations remain smooth thanks to the expanded infrastructure of the T2 international terminal and the application of modern technologies, enabling service units across the operation chain to ensure seamless passenger journeys.
However, as international arrivals to Vietnam have surged to record levels in recent days, the airport warned that immigration areas may become crowded.
Passengers are advised to prepare their passports and visas in advance before reaching the counters and to follow staff instructions and queue in an orderly manner to speed up processing.
Authorities at the airport have also deployed additional personnel to guide passengers and regulate traffic flows throughout terminals.
