To date, no Vietnamese citizens have been affected by the deadly terrorist attack in northern India, spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) Pham Thu Hang confirmed at a regular press briefing on April 24 in Hanoi.

In response to a reporter's question, she said that Vietnam strongly condemns the terrorist attack on April 22 in the Baisaran valley of Pahalgam in Jammu and Kashmir territory, which resulted in many deaths and injuries.

"We extend our deepest condolences to the Government and people of India, as well as to the families of the victims. We believe that those responsible for this heinous act will be strictly punished," she emphasised.

According to the spokesperson, on April 23, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent condolences to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the people of India.

Immediately after the terrorist attack, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs instructed Vietnamese representative agencies in India to urgently coordinate with local authorities to verify information. To date, no Vietnamese citizens have been reported to be affected by the attack. Vietnamese authorities and diplomatic missions will work with Indian authorities to closely monitor the situation to take citizen protection in case any Vietnamese are hit by this event, she said./.
