As of February 6, 41 provinces and cities have been classified as green zones, which means they are at low risk for Covid-19 outbreaks, while 22 are considered yellow zones and face a medium risk, according to data from the Ministry of Health.
There are currently no provinces or cities considered high-risk orange zones or very high-risk red zones. So far, nearly 182.2 million doses of Covid-19 vaccines have been administered across the country, with 52 out of 63 provinces and cities having fully vaccinated over 90% of their adult population.
Though new case counts remain high in some northern localities, especially in Hanoi, the Ministry of Health said the death rate is decreasing quickly, thereby proving the effectiveness of treatment and vaccinations.
The number of severe cases has also gone down. Over the Lunar New Year holiday, HCMC's new daily cases have been consistently below 200. On February 5 and 6, the city recorded less than 50 cases per day, an eight-month low.
