Upon its establishment 60 years ago, Quy Hop was faced with many difficulties due to unfavourable traffic conditions, low education levels, and difficult economic conditions.
Today, the district has a new look with improved people’s living standards and important socio-economic achievements. The proportion of industry, construction and commercial services accounts for over 70% of the economic structure.
Quy Hop District’s total production value is now ranked 12th out of 21 districts in Nghe An Province while the production value per person ranks 10th and the annual contributions to the State budget rank 5th among the 21 districts in the locality.
At the ceremony, Quy Hop District was honoured with the Second-Class Labour Order in recognition of its efforts and achievements over the past years.
The local authorities also launched Vietnamese Ethnic Groups’ Culture Day with the aim to promote local cultural values of ethnic groups in Nghe An Province.
