New pedestrian street piloted in Hanoi

With 60 mobile kiosks, visitors can engage in the traditional architecture and crafts, and signature foods of Tây Hồ District and Hanoi.

A 2,000 square meter outdoor stage for live music performances provides audience with different kinds of music.

Along with the effective operation of the walking street first opened around Hoàn Kiếm Lake 2 years ago, Trịnh Công Sơn walking street is expected to give a boost to local tourism and to provide Hanoians as well as tourists and expats living in Hanoi with an additional entertainment space.

Addressing the opening, Vice Chairman of the Hanoi People’s Committee Ngo Van Quy said that the second pedestrian route of Hanoi aims to attract more visitors by offering new cultural, art and entertainment spaces.

Trinh Cong Son (1939-2001) was one of the greatest songwriters of modern Viet Nam. He composed an estimated 600 songs, of which most are love songs. Son was also known as an amateur poet and painter.
