New decree to affect Uber and Grab services

The past year has seen this new model of ride-sharing operating in Hanoi, HCMC and Khanh Hoa Province. There has been a sharp increase in the number of drivers who are contracted with Uber and Grab.

Meanwhile, there is a lack of adequate regulations for this business model. The Ministry is still finalising terms under Decree 86 to address mobile-based taxi services. Authorities plan to leave it to localities to monitor Uber and Grab services in their areas.
