VTV.vn - Vietnamese authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), and national flag carrier Vietnam Airlines worked with UAE authorities to take 297 Vietnamese citizens home on the 2nd and the 3rd of May.

The passengers included children, students under 18, the elderly, the sick, holidaymakers, those with expired visas, and guest workers who were forced to have their labour contracts cut or take months off without pay.

Vietnam Airlines strictly implemented measures to ensure passengers' safety and health during the flight. The flight landed in Cần Thơ International Airport on Sunday morning. All passengers and crewmembers provided health declarations and were placed under quarantine in Bạc Liêu province according to regulations.
