Ho Chi Minh City saw the largest number of booths with nearly 130, accounting for 70.5%. Products on display are diverse, including processed food, seafood, handicrafts, fine arts products, ceramics, ornamental flowers, fruits, and seedlings.
Nguyen Manh Cuong, head of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee’s Mass Mobilisation Commission, said that the fair aims to support farmers to participate in displaying, promoting, and selling products. At the same time, it helps farmers find cooperation opportunities in the production and consumption of products, exchange experiences in the production process, and access information and new technology in the agricultural sector.
The event will also feature a seminar on solutions to boost the digital economy in agricultural production and a training course on selling techniques on social platforms.
At the opening ceremony, 50 gifts worth 1 million VND each were presented to needy households, in addition to 15 health insurance cards and 11 social insurance cards given to farmers in difficult circumstances in Thu Duc City.
The event, jointly held by the Ho Chi Minh City Farmers’ Association, the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Agriculture and Rural Development and the People Committee of Thu Duc City, will run until May 20.
