The works are grouped in six categories: feature films, TV series, documentaries and scientific films, short films, cartoons, and research projects on cinematic theory and criticism.
One Golden Kite, one Silver Kite and one certificate of merit will be presented in each category for entries showing creativity in expression, honouring humanism, and generating positive social influence while being imbued with national identity.
Participating films will be screened for the public for free from April 13 to 17 at the National Cinema Centre, the August Cinema, the Ngoc Khanh Cinema and the CGV Cinema at Mipec Tower in Hanoi.
The awards ceremony is scheduled for the evening of April 20 in Hanoi and will be broadcast live on Vietnam Television.
Further information about the awards is available on the website canhdieuawards.vn.
The national Golden Kite Awards have been held annually since 2003 by the Vietnam Cinematography Association.
