National press contest on people’s health launched

VTV.vn - The Ministry of Health and the Vietnam Journalists’ Association jointly held a ceremony in Hanoi on December 8, to launch the national press contest entitled “For the People’s Health”.

The press contest aims to honour outstanding contributions of reporters and journalists to the cause of caring for and improving people’s health.

Deputy Minister of Health Do Xuan Tuyen, head of the Organising Board of the contest, emphasised that amid complicated developments of the COVID-19 pandemic over the past two years, the press has always accompanied the health sector.

The press has provided timely information on the prevention of the COVID-19 pandemic, reflecting the examples of dedication and sacrifice of frontline forces to overcome the pandemic. In the context of the emergence of new the COVID-19 variant, the health sector always needs the support of the press, Tuyen added.

Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Journalists’ Association Ho Quang Loi said that the press contest will present awards to outstanding press works, with spill over effects on the health sector.

Entries should feature examples in the healthcare sector, as well as encouraging medical workers to continue their contributions to protecting and caring for the people’s health.

Press works in various forms, such as printing, radio, television, electronic and photos, can be submitted to the Organising Board from now until June 30, 2022.
