National online digital TV platform VTVGo announced
VTV.vn - VTV held the announcement of the national online digital television platform VTVGo on October 9, in response to the National Digital Transformation Day (October 10).

As technology advances and audiences' habits gradually change, digital transformation is an inevitable direction for broadcasters in the face of fierce competition from the Internet and social networks. Not left out of this trend, in recent years, Vietnam Television has also focused on accelerating and strengthening the digital transformation process.

One of the outstanding results of Vietnam Television's strong digital transformation is the birth of the VTVGo application. 10 years ago, VTVGo was launched with the initial goal of being an application to help viewers watch VTV programs completely free of charge. After the process of development and refinement, VTVGo has become a familiar application to tens of millions of viewers across the country and around the world.

On Oct. 9, to mark the National Digital Transformation Day on Oct. 10, Vietnam TV held the launch ceremony of the national online digital TV platform VTVGo.

Speaking at the announcement ceremony, Dinh Dac Vinh - Deputy General Director of Vietnam Television - said that in the coming period, in order to distribute content more widely, all local broadcasters, ministries, agencies and VTV need to work together to provide content to VTVGo to build a strong content ecosystem. In addition, the use of data is also one of the things that Vietnam Television needs to focus on in order to better reach domestic and international audiences.

With the coordination, support and guidance of the Ministry of Information and Communications, VTVGo has been integrated into smart TVs manufactured, imported and distributed in Vietnam from 2024. Some major TV manufacturers have pre-installed the VTVGo application on the main interface of their TV screens.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister of Information and Communication Nguyen Thanh Lam said that the activities organized by Vietnam Television in response to the National Digital Transformation Day and the official announcement of the national online digital television platform VTVGo are  very meaningful. It helps spread the spirit of digital transformation to press agencies in general and the  experiences for agencies to successfully transform digitally, in addition to communicating the results that VTV has achieved in this area, Lam said.
