With a book fair themed “Books and the Roles of Future Creations”, the first National Book Prize ceremony took place this morning at the National Library.
The Best Book prizes were awarded to 3 books, namely, a book entitled ‘French colonial rules in Southern Vietnam in 1859 – 1954, a systematic research on the French’s rule over nearly 100 years;" the second, a book titled "A contribution to the study of Vietnamese cultural history;" and a research book on Vietnamese seaweed.
The National Book Prize, which used to be known as the Vietnam Book Prize, has been awarded for 13 years.
The prize aims to recognise and honour the authors, translators, scientists, and people involved in the publishing, printing, and distribution of literature throughout the country.
The first National Book Awards of 2018 featured the participation of 40 publishers, with a total of 514 book titles, which have competed in two categories: good books and nice books.
