VTV.vn - The National Assembly Standing Committee (NASC)’s 43rd session opened in Hanoi on March 23 under the chairmanship of NA Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan.

The session also saw the attendance of Deputy Prime Minister Vu Duc Dam, and Minister of Planning and Investment Nguyen Chi Dung, amongst others.

Addressing the opening session, NA Chairman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that at this session, the NASC will listen to Deputy PM Vu Duc Dam present a report on the Covid-19 epidemic situation with solutions and plans to prevent and combat the epidemic in Vietnam.

The NASC will also look into and comment on a number of draft laws on which there remain different views, including the draft law on investment in the form of public-private partnership (PPP), the draft law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Law on National Disaster Prevention and Control and the Law on Dykes, the draft law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Law on Promulgation of Legal Documents, the draft law on amendments and supplements to some articles of the Construction Law, the revised draft Law on Investment, the revised draft Law on Enterprises, and the draft Law on the Vietnam Border Guard.

In addition, NASC deputies will consider and discuss the adjustment of the ratio of allocated expenditure to ensure the operation of the General Department of Taxation and the General Department of Vietnam Customs in the 2016-2020 period, and the reassigning of part of the allocated funding to ensure the operations of the General Department of Taxation to the General Department of State Reserves, the State Securities Commission and the Academy of Finance.

Also during the two-day session, the NASC will offer opinions on the financial and income management mechanisms associated with characteristics of state administrative agencies, and on the draft Government Decree amending and supplementing some of the articles of Decree No. 165/2016/ND-CP, dated December 24, 2016, detailing the management and use of the state budget for a number of activities in the field of defence and security.
