With regards to the draft law on religious practices, many deputies said that certain regulations intrude on the internal organisation of religions. They believe that this undermines the respect the constitution gives to freedom of religion. Moreover, the limited definition of a ‘charity organisation’ hinders religious organisations in participating in social activities.
The draft law on childcare saw a debate, as deputies discussed whether to increase the age of majority to 18. Many believe that a raise would conflict with existing laws for children, and does not take into account ethnic cultural diversity. However, others argued that citizens under the age of 18, especially between 16 and 18, still require legal protection, and therefore, 18 is a reasonable age.
