VTV.vn - Politburo member and Vice Chairman of the National Assembly (NA) Tran Thanh Man led a delegation to visit and present gifts to policy beneficiaries in Long Xuyen city, the Mekong Delta province of An Giang, on December 29.

The NA Vice Chairman said that the Secretariat issued Directive No.11 dated on December 8, 2021, to direct the Party committees, authorities, fatherland fronts and organisations around the country, to make preparations for the upcoming New Year and Lunar New Year (Tet) Festivals 2022, in the spirit of safety and thriftiness, as well as care for people, especially the poor, to welcome a warm and happy Tet.

He asked the authorities and people in An Giang province to strictly comply with 5K principles to protect the community’s health, while accelerating vaccinations against COVID-19.

The province should continue to mobilise all sources to care for the people, especially policy beneficiary families, revolutionary contributors, poor households, people living in difficult circumstances due to COVID-19, infected and orphaned children, added NA Vice Chairman Man.

He also noted that relevant agencies need to pay great attention to maintaining political security and social order and safety while ensuring food safety and hygiene.

On the occasion, the NA Vice Chairman presented gifts to 30 policy beneficiaries in Long Xuyen city as well as 1 billion VND from the National COVID-19 Vaccine Fund for the pandemic prevention and control in the province.

On the same day, he visited the policy beneficiary Nguyen Thanh Hoang in My Binh ward.
