NA standing committee meeting concludes

Concluding the meeting, the National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan said that the committee had reviewed the outcomes of the National Assembly’s fourth session and discussed preparations for the next sitting.

The committee also assessed the results of external activities in 2017 including the provision of additional funding to buy rice for national reserve and approved a plan for 2018, while giving ideas on foreign relations and international co-operation programmes of some National Assembly agencies.

The committee's members adopted a resolution approving the appointment of ambassadors to various countries for the 2017-2020 period, and the Vietnamese ambassador to the United Nations. The committee also approved amendments to a plan for housing support in 2016-2020 to those who rendered services for the country's revolution.

A report on monitoring the issuance of resolutions and operation of people's councils of centrally-run cities and provinces, and the government's proposal on issuance of support policies for the use of public irrigation services and products were discussed at the meeting.
