The National Assembly Standing Committee said that the state's support package for the economy during the pandemic currently accounts for roughly 2% of the GDP, and is proposed to increase to stimulate growth.
A delegate suggested that the Government re-evaluate Resolution 42 on dealing with bad debts and possibly extend it into law to continue to support and reduce difficulties for businesses and people.
Speaking at the session, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue asked delegates to conduct an in-depth analysis on areas heavily affected by the pandemic, especially tourism and services, and consider prioritizing fields with positive growth such as Science-technology, Information-Telecommunications, and Finance-Banking.
He noted that a suitable roadmap should be developed to reopen the economy that takes into account vaccine coverage and disease control while avoiding subjectivity and hastiness.
