VTV.vn - Draft laws on revising the Technology Transfer and Railway laws topped the National Assembly’s agenda on November 11.

Law makers emphasized the need to amend the revised Law on Technology Transfer to institutionalize Vietnam’s policies on scientific and technological development and avoid upgrading to outdated or soon-to-be outdated technologies. Some deputies said as agriculture forms an important component in Vietnam’s economy, it is necessary to promote scientific and technological application in this area, especially in cultivation, husbandry, preservation, and post-harvest processing.

The National Assembly has voted to approve the state budget plan for next year. During their session the same day, deputies agreed on a budget deficit projected at 178.3 trillion dong or 3.5% of the GDP.

They called for a rigorous fiscal plan in line with monetary policy to fuel production, stabilize the macro economy and control inflation. They asked for more inspection and solutions for smuggling, trade fraud, tax invasion and counterfeiting. The basic salary will be raised to VND1.3 million per month by next January.

In the afternoon, deputies approved a resolution on amendments to agricultural land use tax reduction and exemption. They also discussed the revised bill on state compensations.
