NA discusses Draft Law on Belief and Religion
VTV.vn - The fifth version of the draft Law on Belief and Religion was heard at this morning’s working session of the National Assembly.

On behalf of the government, Minister of Home Affairs Nguyen Thai Binh said that the Law would provide a legal basis for religious affairs in Vietnam. It would provide more consistent content to the 2013 Constitution and international treaties.

The Minister also said that the Law would surmount inadequacies and shortcomings of current regulations on religious belief. This aims to create an open and transparent environment for religious activities while ensuring people’s freedom of belief in Vietnam.

The law would also limit the government’s interference in some internal religious affairs, and promote administrative reform in the sector.
