NA Committee for Legal Affairs convenes 30th plenary session

During the meeting, the committee will examine the Government’s reports on the enforcement of the Constitution, laws, ordinances and resolutions of the NA and the NA Standing Committee (NASC); on the results of reviewing legal normative documents in state management areas; and on the settlement of complaints and denunciations.

In addition, deputies will look into the Government’s proposals regarding the draft Resolution on the organisation of urban government in Ho Chi Minh City, while commenting on a number of other issues.

On the morning of October 6, the NA Committee for Legal Affairs examined the Government’s report on the implementation of NASC Resolution No. 718/NQ-UBTVQH13, promulgating the plan to organise the enforcement of the Constitution, and NA Resolution No. 67/2013/QH13 on enhancing the enforcement of laws, ordinances and resolutions of the NA and NASC and promulgating documents guiding their enforcement in 2020.

Through discussion, deputies stated that in recent times, the Government has proposed many measures to tighten discipline, assigned and clearly defined the responsibilities of units and individuals in drafting and submitting documents, and ensured quality and progress as determined in the NA’s resolutions.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Chairman of the NA Committee for Legal Affairs Nguyen Truong Giang stressed the need to further raise awareness of law-building work in ministries and branches, especially amongst the heads of units.

During the morning session, the committee also examined the Government’s report on the results of reviewing legal normative documents in state management areas, while commenting on the committee’s draft report on results of supervising legal normative documents in 2020.
