The two outermost bridges are over 200 metres long and 13 metres wide, connecting Nghiem Xuan Yen Street and Hoang Liet Street and featuring 1.7 metre wide pedestrian corridors, while the two inner branches link to the elevated ring road, which is reserved for cars only.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony on October 6, Hanoi Chairman Chu Ngoc Anh said the bridge system is one of the capital city’s most important transport infrastructure projects.
He stated that it will help ease pressure on the Thanh Xuan and Phap Van interchanges and reduce congestion at the intersection between Nguyen Huu Tho Street and Giai Phong Street and the Linh Dam area.
Construction of the project began in late 2019 and the total cost stands at over VND341 billion (US$14.7 million).
