MSD Vietnam inaugurated a new office at the Capital Place building, 29 Lieu Giai Street, Ba Dinh District, Ha Noi on July 7.
The new office has a modern design that accommodates open workspaces in the first LEED-certified building in Hanoi (which met the standards of reducing electricity use and protecting the environment). The MSD office in Ho Chi Minh City is also being upgraded in this direction, expected to be inaugurated by the end of 2023.
Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Minister of Health – Mr. Do Xuan Tuyen stated: “Over the past years, the Ministry of Health and the Government of Vietnam have recognized the contributions of MSD to the mission improving health for Vietnamese people. Congratulations on the inaugural ceremony and hope the company continue to grow firmly, implement more partnerships and investment in pharmaceutical industry in line with direction and strategy of the Government of Vietnam.”
MSD has committed to striving relentlessly to make a difference in the health and well-being of the people through public–private initiatives and support to address critical unmet healthcare needs. The prominent cooperation programs that bring long-term impact and tangible benefits include the MSD for Mothers program to improve maternal health, the Anti-Microbial Stewardship (AMS) program to address antibiotic resistance, the Patient Access Program launched in 2018 which aims to improve eligible cancer patients access to innovative cancer treatment, and educational programs to raise awareness and prevent HPV-related diseases.
The President of MSD Asia Pacific - Mr. David Peacock, emphasized: “Vietnam is among the critical markets for MSD in the Asia Pacific region. MSD continues to invest in strengthening capacity to meet the growing needs of the Vietnamese people, building a working environment that attracts local talent, and partnering with key stakeholders to solve healthcare challenges".
This July, MSD will also inaugurate a newly expanded warehouse in Cat Lai Industrial Zone, Thu Duc City, with four times the capacity compared to the current warehouse. The new warehouse will significantly increase the storage capacity of vaccines and drugs to respond in a timely manner and meet the increasing healthcare needs of Vietnamese people.
