Over 2 million tons of Vietnamese rice was exported to the Philippines in the first 4 months of 2019, accounting for 38% of total rice exports. For the first time in a number of years, the Phillippines has become the leading importer of Vietnamese rice. In order to gain a better position in this market, improving rice quality and offering more competitive prices will be essential.
