In Vietnam, nearly 230 million doses of COVID-19 vaccines have been administered, including roughly 44.4 million third booster shots and 3.3 million 4th booster shots on people aged 18 and above, according to the Ministry of Health.
The Ministry has requested that cities and provinces accelerate the vaccination of the booster shot against COVID-19 for people aged 18 and above.
The World Health Organization (WHO) says omicron won't be the last Covid variant, warning the high levels of infection around the world will likely lead to new variants as the virus mutates. Therefore, representatives of WHO emphasized that people need to get a booster vaccination to ensure antibodies that prevent Covid-19.
