MOF proposes extension of tax and land rental fee payments in 2023

The Ministry of Finance has submitted to the government a Draft Decree on extending the 2023 deadline for paying value-added tax, corporate income tax, personal income tax, and land rent to support businesses in terms of costs, liquidity, and cash flow.

The decree will be applied to the groups specified in Article 3 of Decree No. 34, which excludes credit institutions and foreign bank branches.

According to calculations by the Ministry of Finance, with this option, the total amount of value-added tax to be extended from March to August 2023 is about 64–65 trillion VND. Regarding land rent, the Ministry of Finance proposes extending the deadline for paying land rent for 50% of the arising land rent payable in 2023 by enterprises, organisations, households, and individual business households.

The extension period is six months, from May 31, 2023, to November 30, 2023. The amount of land and water surface rent to be extended is about 3.5 trillion VND.
