The contest is a part of activities of the National Tourism Year 2020 - Ninh Binh, and is also one of activities in response to the year in which Vietnam holds the ASEAN Chair.
The contest was organised by Da Bien Group Joint Stock Company under the license of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism issued on July 31, 2019.
Women aged 18 to 27, who have nationality in ASEAN member countries, are encouraged to join the Miss ASEAN Capital 2020 competition.
The organising board will receive applications from November 15, 2019, until the end of February 15, 2020.
Preliminary rounds will take place in ten countries: Vietnam, Cambodia, Myanmar, Bruney, Singapore, Indonesia, Thailand, Laos, Philippines and Malaysia.
The Miss ASEAN Capital 2020 winner will be presented with a crown worth VND500 million and a gift worth VND300 million, while the first runner-up will receive a crown worth VND100 million and a gift worth VND200 million. The second runner-up will receive a crown worth VND100 million and a gift worth VND 100 million. Sub-prize winners will be awarded VND35 million each.
As a companion activity of the Miss ASEAN Capital 2020, a contest will be organised on understanding and promoting the culture and heritage of ASEAN member countries, which aims to make a positive contribution to the development of tourism.
