Ministry meets Facebook

During the talks, the minister noted the recent co-ordination of Facebook in the removal of content violating Vietnamese laws on this social network platform, such as fake accounts, and contents aimed at advertising and selling illegal products and services.

However, as the co-ordination has not been as effective as expected, the minister suggested that Facebook co-operate more closely with the ministry in this area, and conform to their obligations when carrying out business activities in Vietnam.

Facebook agreed to set up a separate channel to receive and handle requests from the ministry, and a separate co-operation mechanism with Vietnam to block and remove malicious content on the network.
