At the ceremony, authorised by the President, Politburo member, and Minister of Defence, General Phan Van Giang awarded the Fatherland Defence Order, third class, to the Military Medical Academy.
In his speech, General Phan Van Giang affirmed that after 75 years of building, fighting and growing, the Military Medical Academy has always strived, regardless of hardships and sacrifices, to perform its duties well, protect, care for and improve the health of officers, soldiers and people; increasingly mature and strong in all aspects, completing assigned tasks.
In the fight for national liberation and national reunification, generations of leaders, commanders, staff, students, and soldiers of the Military Medical Academy have overcome difficulties, challenges, and dangers, not only directly participating in combat and serving in combat but also teaching, researching, and training a team of physicians and medical staff, promptly meeting the requirements for care and treatment of wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, and other people. Many military physicians have heroically sacrificed their lives for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland and the happiness of the people.
Entering a period of innovation, integration and national development, with the spirit of initiative, creativity, and daring to think and to do, the Military Medical Academy has strived to overcome difficulties and challenges, achieving progress and outstanding training, scientific research, treatment, protection, and health care for subjects, building the Academy to become a leading medical centre of the Army.
