The Mid-Autumn season evokes fond childhood memories: the sound of lion dance drums, shimmering lanterns, and the joyful laughter of children. This year, the production team of the Ethnic Language Television Department (VTV5) at Vietnam Television will present a special gala program to celebrate this occasion. “Mid-Autumn Connection - Love” is a festive night where tradition meets modernity, and love and sharing spread across the nation.
The 60-minute program is made up of three main sections: “Moon of Connection - Sharing”, “Touching the Golden Moonlight”, and “Lighting Up Mid-Autumn”. From the outset, viewers will be immersed in a lively lion dance and lantern parade, evoking the warm and bustling atmosphere of a traditional Mid-Autumn Festival. The stage will glow with golden moonlight and radiant star lanterns, creating a festive and heartfelt celebration.
Child actors playing beloved characters such as the Moon Lady (Chi Hang), Cuoi, Jade Rabbit, and Bom will guide viewers through playful and meaningful skits. From Cuoi’s mischief to Bom’s humor, and the touching moments of sharing Mid-Autumn joy with disadvantaged children, each scene conveys messages of love, unity, and faith in the good things of life.
A highlight of the program will be the appearance of composer Nguyen Van Chung, whose songs, such as “Mother’s Diary” and “Mid-Autumn Lanterns”, have accompanied many generations of Vietnamese children. According to editor Ngoc Pham, not only will composer Nguyen Van Chung perform liv, he will also share stories about his childhood and his journey of writing music for children. This will offer audiences a deeper insight into his love for nurturing young hearts through art.

The audience will also enjoy the fashion collection “Carp Turning into Dragon”, featuring adorable child models on stage. Drawing inspiration from the legendary carp transformation into a dragon after overcoming challenges, the collection symbolizes dreams, aspirations, and the will to succeed in life.
