This statement was made at a conference by local authorities of the two sides held this morning in Can Tho city. Vietnamese authorities praised the visit made by their Thai partners, seeing it as an opportunity for investment cooperation between the regions.
Thai firms also recognized the Mekong Delta’s advantages in the fields of education and agriculture. Along with large-scale corporations, small and medium sized Thai businesses are expanding their operations in Vietnam, contributing to waves of Thai investment to the country. Besides major cities like Hanoi and HCMC, Thai businesses are seeking investment opportunities in the Mekong Delta. So far, Thailand remains one of Vietnam’s 10 biggest trade partners.
