Young man teaches English for free, inspiring thousands of students
Once living at the temple gate, young Truong Chan Sang (Tan Uyen Township, Binh Duong) has become a teacher who teaches English closer to poor students. He is currently a member of the Binh Duong Provincial Committee of the Vietnamese Youth Union and director of the English for the Community Club.
However, few people know that Truong Chan Sang is the youngest child of a disadvantaged family. The worst thing that happened to Sang was that his older brother, father and older sister died of liver disease. In the same year, he was involved in a serious traffic accident on his way to school, resulting in a traumatic brain injury that left him in a coma for almost a month.
Growing up with a difficult family situation and many losses, Sang understands the desire to go to school to fulfill the dreams of many poor students. This is also the reason that motivates him to open free English clubs and classes.
Special classes from security teachers
Tran Lam Thang's class with 0 VND tuition fee is located in Long Binh Ward, Thu Duc City (Ho Chi Minh City.) HCM) and has been running for almost 13 years. Currently, the class has nearly 100 children from many different disadvantaged backgrounds, but all share the same dream of becoming literate.
During the day, Lam Thang works as a security guard, protecting the villagers, and at night he teaches the children. In the past, after returning from service, he worked as a civil defense officer to protect the safety of the villagers. When he went to resolve the conflict among the young people, he was surprised and disturbed to find that they were illiterate. The neighbors in the area where he lived were mainly brick kiln workers whose children had to help their parents from an early age, so the opportunity to go to school was almost nonexistent.
Farmers' rescue and lifesaving team
Recently, people in Doan Hung District, Phu Tho Province and those who regularly travel along National Highway 2 through Tieu Son Commune have become familiar with the roadside rescue post. There are always members of the Tieu Son Commune Rescue and Lifesaving Team on duty 24 hours a day, 24 days a week, ready to provide first aid to victims. They are farmers, construction workers, retired soldiers... They volunteer to help in unfortunate cases of traffic accidents while traveling through the locality.
Since 2006, regardless of day, night, rain, sun and cold, the team members have participated in rescuing hundreds of victims of traffic accidents that occurred on the National Road 2, even very serious ones, providing first aid and transferring them to the district hospital for treatment. The team's operation log is clearly recorded, specifically from the time, place, content of the accident ...
For the members of the rescue team, joy and happiness are simply hearing the news that the victim was saved, shaking their hands to thank them.
