The conference was also attended by Politburo member, Secretary of the PCC and Head of the PCC’s Organisation Commission Truong Thi Mai.
Within the conference, the delegates listened to a summary of the results of the management of cadres, civil servants and public employees of the political system in the 2016-2021 period and exchanged, discussed and proposed measures for staff management in the 2022-2026 period, as a basis for advising the Politburo to issue a decision on the total workforce of the political system for the 2022-2026 period.
Speaking at the conference, Politburo member Vo Van Thuong stated that staff management, staff reduction and job positions are among very important issues that require high political determination, and must be based on and stick to the resolutions of the Party, especially the Resolution of the 13th National Party Congress.
The task of downsizing staff must be associated with the review of functions and tasks, the reorganisation of the apparatus, the restructuring, and the improvement of the quality of the contingent of cadres and civil servants; the completion of construction of job positions, salary reform, and administrative reform; and the strengthening of decentralisation in staff management, in which increasing authority and ensuring synchronisation and consistency in staff management at the local level, he added.
Politburo member Vo Van Thuong also urged the Steering Committee to soon complete related draft documents to submit to the Politburo for its consideration and decision.
