VTV.vn - Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim underlined that technological advancement must translate into tangible gains in productivity and public welfare.

Malaysia is intensifying efforts to advance its artificial intelligence (AI) agenda under the National AI Action Plan 2030, with the long-term aim of positioning itself among the region’s leaders in the field.

At a meeting of the National Digital Economy and Fourth Industrial Revolution Council (MED4IRN) on September 9, Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim underlined that technological advancement must translate into tangible gains in productivity and public welfare.

As part of its digitalisation push, Malaysia has introduced the "MyGOV Malaysia" application, a single-window platform designed for all government transactions. All ministries and agencies have been directed to quickly integrate their services into the system.

In parallel, the government is accelerating the rollout of "MyDigital ID", the national digital identification system, with a goal of securing 15 million registrations by the end of this year. The initiative is being supported by verification processes managed through the National Registration Department.

Efforts should also be made to broaden internet access across the education sector, extending beyond public universities to cover colleges and vocational training institutions, the PM said.

The Malaysian leader stressed that strong digital infrastructure will be a critical foundation for the country’s digital economy, ensuring that technology delivers practical benefits to citizens.
