“Made-in-Vietnam” social network Gapo launched

Tech firm G-Group has invested 22 million USD in it. Its plan is to shift users to a local platform amidst a strong presence of global players in the market.

The launch of Gapo comes at a time when the local ministry of information and communication is calling for the establishment of 'made-in-Vietnam' social platforms.

A cybersecurity law that was recently passed requires internet companies operating in Vietnam to store user data locally and to provide user data to the government.
