Japan is currently the leading economic partner of Vietnam, the country's biggest ODA provider of Vietnam. Over the past time, Japanese projects in Long An have continuously expanded in size and increased investment capital, showing that Japanese businesses put their trust in Long An's investment environment.
Japanese projects have made important contributions to the socio-economic development of Long An. The whole province currently has over 138 projects invested by Japanese enterprises, with a total investment capital of about 767 million USD.
Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Long An Province Huynh Van Son said, that the Japanese investment promotion conference 2023, with the theme "Long An integration and development", is one of a series of activities to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Japan.
This is an important event for Long An to introduce and promote the province's outstanding and attractive potential and strengths to Japanese organizations, businesses and investors. Specifically, delegates from Ibaraki Prefecture and Okayama City are present at the conference.
Speaking at the conference, Ono Masuo, Consul General of Japan in Ho Chi Minh City said that for Japan, Vietnam is an important partner to jointly implement the Free and Open Indo-Pacific Strategy (FOIP).
As for Long An, Ono Masuo highly appreciated the connection position between Ho Chi Minh City and the Mekong Delta, with its rich agricultural resources and many industrial parks.
