Live entertainment show wins int'l awards
VTV.vn - On July 17, "Tinh Hoa Bac Bo" (The Quintessence of Tonkin), the first live entertainment performance from Vietnam, was honored as a leading cultural show at the Best Hotels & Resorts Awards 2019 in Seoul, South Korea.

The 60-minute show depicts peaceful landscapes and the unique heritage of the northern region. It also highlights Vietnam's history and culture from a contemporary perspective using hundreds of performers, an interactive stage and state-of-the-art technology.

The show depicts various elements of Vietnamese culture, such as folk singing, folk games, the worship of Mother Goddesses and the daily lives of farmers.

After running for nearly two years, the show is now a special tourism product of Hanoi and draws around 80,000 tourists including 50,000 foreigners. It's been praised by CNN as a must-see show for people who visit Hanoi.

Last year, the show was recognized by the Vietnamese Guinness Book of Records for using a 4,300 square-meter water stage, the largest in Vietnam, and the most cast members with 150 farmers.
