Organized by the State Committee for Overseas Vietnamese (under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) in cooperation with the Hanoi People's Committee, the Homeland Spring program with the theme “Vietnam – Rising in a New Era” will take place at the National Convention Center, Hanoi, and will be aired live by Vietnam Television at 8:10 PM on January 19, 2025, on VTV1 and VTV4. Approximately 1,500 overseas Vietnamese delegates, their families, and local guests are expected to attend the program.
Homeland Spring 2025 is not only a remarkable art program but also a symbol of patriotism, solidarity, and national pride. It affirms that overseas Vietnamese are an inseparable part of the Vietnamese community. Wherever they may be, their hearts remain tied to their homeland and roots. Combining traditional and contemporary music, this artistic program will bring the warm atmosphere of spring to millions of Vietnamese hearts across the globe.
The program consists of two parts: the Ceremony and the Art Performance. The highlight of the ceremony will be the moment when President Luong Cuong delivers a Tet greeting to the overseas Vietnamese community and beats the drum to officially welcome the Spring Festival.
The art performances will take viewers through a range of emotions, from sacred memories of the past, depictions of beloved Hanoi, and the unity of Vietnam’s three regions, to an inspiring conclusion featuring songs of trust and a new spirit. These performances will celebrate the determination to propel the nation forward and overcome the challenges of the times. According to the production team, the program will present a vibrant artistic picture that reflects Vietnam’s journey of resilience, pride in the present, and aspirations for a radiant future. It will highlight a shared vision that illuminates the nation’s path into a new era, where Vietnamese people, both at home and abroad, stand united. The program will feature renowned artists, including People’s Artists Lam Tung, Lan Huong, Tan Minh, and Thu Huyen; Meritorious Artists Dang Duong and Hoang Tung; as well as performers such as Thu Phuong, Tung Duong, Ho Quynh Huong, Nguyen Tran Trung Quan, and rising stars like Phuong My Chi and Quach Mai Thy.
As an annual event, Homeland Spring has become a significant cultural and political program, drawing the special attention of overseas Vietnamese communities worldwide. It reaffirms the strong bond between expatriates and their homeland while showcasing the concern and responsibility of the Party and State leaders for the overseas Vietnamese community. The program also aims to foster patriotism, encourage a connection to cultural roots, and inspire the preservation of Vietnam’s cultural identity, traditions, and language.
With the theme “Vietnam – Rising in a New Era”, the program continues to motivate and encourage the overseas Vietnamese community to strive in their work, studies, and efforts to build a united, stable, and thriving community. This, in turn, will contribute valuable resources to the nation’s development and protection and enhance the strength of national unity. Through this event, the organizers aim to send a message of a dynamic and forward-moving Vietnam while expressing gratitude to the overseas Vietnamese community for their continued support and dedication to their homeland.
