Organized by the Central Commission for Propaganda and Mass Mobilization in coordination with Vietnam Television, The Light of Knowledge Gala 2025 was sponsored by TH Group as the accompanying partner. The program was broadcast live on the evening of December 27, 2025, on VTV1. Carefully staged with rich, in-depth content, the gala honored intellectuals and scientists across many fields, creating a strong and positive social impact. The production team's professionalism and creativity helped to powerfully spread the value of knowledge in national development.
In attendance were Mr. Vu Manh Ha, alternate member of the Party Central Committee and Standing Deputy Minister of Health; Mr. Vu Thanh Mai, Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Information, Education and Mass Mobilization and Mr. Dinh Dac Vinh, Deputy Director General of Vietnam Television. Also present were representatives of ministries and sectors, as well as numerous intellectuals and scientists.
The opening performance features People’s Artists Merit Award recipients Dang Duong, Viet Hoan, and Trong Tan.
Proud of the Name Vietnam
The program featured in-depth reports and live exchanges with prominent scientists, intellectuals, and artists. The first dialogue brought together two scientists representing two generations who studied and worked abroad before returning to Vietnam to contribute their knowledge: Professor Tran Dinh Long, affectionately known by farmers as the “Academician of the countryside”, and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Viet Huong of Phenikaa University, a pioneer in researching SALD technology, single atomic layer deposition at atmospheric pressure in water, one of today’s most advanced nanofabrication technologies.

MC Thu Ha spoke with Do Hong Quan, a musician and the chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, and Nguyen Dinh Duc, a professor and doctor of science at the University of Engineering and Technology at Vietnam National University, Hanoi, about their formative years studying in Russia during a vibrant and passionate youth.

Prof. Dr. Sc. Nguyen Dinh Duc, who also spent many years studying in Russia, shares how he inspired generations of students to pursue scientific research, helping young people develop a genuine passion and determination to achieve their dreams.
Aspiration to Conquer
There were reports on two intellectuals: Professor Doctor Mai Trong Khoa, a pioneer in applying radiation techniques in cancer diagnosis and treatment in Vietnam, and Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Tran Thuat, with the project “Research and development of infrared thermal image sensor fabrication technology for defense, security, and civil applications”.
Conquering intellectual peaks with a desire to serve science and the nation is a belief shared by scientists. MC Duc Bao spoke with Professor Doctor Thieu Quang Tuan of Hydrolic Works University and Professor Doctor Nguyen Duc Hoa of the Hanoi University of Science and Technology about motivating students to integrate learning with practical experience.

In science and technology, Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo, on breakthroughs in science, technology, innovation, and national digital transformation, has received strong support from officials, Party members, the public, scientists, and the business community since its issuance, creating powerful momentum for change.
A physically healthy generation of young people will ensure a high-quality workforce, thereby contributing to the nation's development and defense.
Resolution No. 72 of the Politburo proposes comprehensive and forceful reforms in awareness and action to strengthen public health protection, care, and improvement, ensuring healthcare for all citizens and making a significant contribution to a prosperous and civilized nation. Many scientists have devoted their entire lives to this mission.
In the program, MC Duc Bao spoke with the Hero of Labor, People’s Physician, Professor Doctor Huynh Thi Phuong Lien about her lifelong dedication. She worked in vaccine research and production during the war in Military Zone V , and has successfully developed and exported inactivated Japanese encephalitis vaccines.
MC Thu Ha conversed with Dr. Pham Huy Hieu,born 1992, the youngest recipient of the Golden Globe Science and Technology Award in 2023 and an Outstanding Young Vietnamese in 2024, who shared insights on effectively applying science, technology, and artificial intelligence in the healthcare sector.
