Leaders deliver Tet gifts to beneficiaries and the disadvantaged

VTV.vn - Party and State leaders visited and presented gifts to policy beneficiary families and needy people around the country on January 14 on the occasion of the upcoming Tet (Lunar New Year) holiday.

On January 12, in Vinh Long province, Permanent Deputy Prime Minister Truong Hoa Binh presented gifts and houses of gratitude to heroic Vietnamese mothers and policy beneficiary families, gave bicycles to students who have overcome difficulties to study well and presented desktop computers to districts of Long Ho, Tra On, Vung Liem and Binh Tan, with the total value of VND 800 million.

The Permanent Deputy Prime Minister expressed his pleasure at the achievements of Vinh Long province’s education sector in the positive innovations and improving education quality at all levels. He also called on the local students to continue to make more efforts in learning.

Deputy Prime Minister asked the Vinh Long provincial leaders continue to take care of policy beneficiary families, and effectively implement sustainable poverty reduction in the locality. It is necessary to take interest in education, especially in remote areas of the province, while implementing many measures and policies for poor ethnic minority students who are studious, to overcome difficulties to go to school.

On the same day, President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Tran Thanh Man visited and sent best wishes to former Party and State leaders, including former Party General Secretaries Le Kha Phieu and Nong Duc Manh; former National Assembly Chairman Nguyen Sinh Hung; former President of VFF Central Committee Pham The Duyet; families of the late General Secretary of the Communist Party of Vietnam (CPV) Do Muoi, the late President Tran Dai Quang and the late General Vo Nguyen Giap, on the occasion of the upcoming Lunar New Year Festival.

VFF President Tran Thanh Man expressed his appreciation for the great contributions of the former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and his family to the revolutionary cause, to the fight for national liberation, and the current national renovation. On the occasion of the Lunar New Year 2019, the VFF President wished the former leaders of the Party, State, Vietnam Fatherland Front and their families good health, and asked them to continue to be examples of morality and devotion for the development of the country.

VFF President Tran Thanh Man also paid a visit and extended best wishes to Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue, the patriarch of the Vietnamese Buddhist Congregation, on January 12.

The VFF president expressed his delight at Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue’s strong mind and body despite being nearly one hundred years old, and wished him and all Vietnamese Buddhists a happy new year.

For his part, Most Venerable Thich Pho Tue expressed his sincere thanks to the Front leader for his consideration and wished the members of the VFF Standing Committee a new year of good health and prosperity.
