Law for Vietnam's media discussed
VTV.vn - National Assembly deputies underscored the need to create the best possible conditions for the development of the press while discussing draft revisions to the Press Law on Monday.

Deputies proposed that the drafting board should include regulations on penalties for individuals and organisations obstructing the media’s activities, failing to provide information to the media, or giving false information. The drafting board should also consider criminal procedures for crimes committed against journalists.

Others agreed that the draft revisions should also focus on financing for media organisations. A number of deputies said the revisions should clarify the state’s investment policy on the establishment and dissolution of media organisations.
