The article stated that the year 2022 will witness many significant celebrations of historical events for the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries, particularly the 60th anniversary of the bilateral diplomatic relations and the 45th anniversary of the signing of the Laos-Vietnam Treaty of Friendship and Cooperation.
The editorial stressed that the celebration of the Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022 provides an opportunity to popularise and educate cadres, civil servants and armed forces, as well as the people, especially the youth, on the time-honoured relations between the two countries, thus encouraging them to safeguard and promote the strong bilateral ties and the revolutionary achievements of the two nations.
The special relationship between Laos and Vietnam is a decisive factor of victory for the two countries' revolutions for national liberation in the past as well as the present national construction and development, it emphasised.
Activities held under the framework of the Vietnam - Laos, Laos - Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022 also aims to remember the mutual support that Vietnam and Laos have dedicated to each other in the past and at present.
The article called for a joint effort from sectors and organisations from central to local levels to effectively implement the event, following the directives of the National Steering Committee on the celebration of the Laos-Vietnam Solidarity and Friendship Year 2022.
